芦屋からモンテベロへ

このたび、芦屋市の姉妹都市学生親善使節として活動できることをとても嬉しく思います。
初めての経験に緊張もありますが、それ以上に新しい出会いや発見が楽しみです。
現地では積極的に声をかけ、笑顔で交流の輪を広げたいです。
そして、芦屋の魅力を自分の言葉で伝え、相手の心に残る時間となるよう全力で取り組みます。
この経験を成長の糧にし、実際に現地を訪れることでしか得られない芦屋市とモンテベロ市それぞれの魅力を存分に伝えたいです。

第60回芦屋市親善使節という記念すべき年に、芦屋市の代表としてモンテベロ市を訪問できることを大変光栄に思います。
私は芦屋生まれ、芦屋育ちです。芦屋とモンテベロは場所や文化は異なりますが、人を大切にするという共通の価値を持っていると感じています。
現地では多様な文化に触れながら芦屋の魅力を自分の言葉で伝えるとともに、交流を通して新たな価値観を学び、相互理解を深めてまいります。
その経験を今後に生かし、両市の友好関係のさらなる発展に貢献したいと考えています。
モンテベロから芦屋へ
Daniel Nagata
Hello！My name is Daniel Nagata. I am 17 years old and a senior at Gabrielino High School.
I am a 5th generation Japanese American. I live in Montebello with my father, my mother, may brother, Kai(16), and sister Kimiko(16).
I balance leadership as Varsity Cross Country captain, Varsity Basketball player, and Varsity Track Distance runner with my role in student government as ASB Senior Vice President. Outside of school, I create lifestyle content on social media focused on authenticity, travel, and self-confidence.
My international experience with the Yonsei Basketball Association in Fukuoka, Japan and the Project Bridge Program in South Korea strengthened my resilience and cross-cultural understanding. As a MASCA Student Ambassador, I look forward to contributing my dedication to the program and building friendships in Japan while committing to my community and growing as a globally minded leader.
I would like to visit Universal Studios, if possible, visit Hiroshima, where my grandmother grew up, meet the Ashiya city officials and former ambassadors, and eat delicious Japanese food! I can’t wait to visit any konbini. Thank you for hosting me, what an honor!
Maximus Almeida
Hello, my name is Maximus Almeida. I am 16 years old and in my second year of high school.
I live with my mother and father in Montebello. My older brother lives in San Diego.
I enjoy video games and am part of the video gaming club at my high school. I am also taking engineering classes at my high school. I like building robotics. I also enjoy lego and spending time with my friends.
I am interested in trying all kinds of Japanese food and want to try everything! I’m also into fashion and hope to bring back some cool clothes.
I want to visit Universal Studios, a Christian church and meet the Ashiya City officials and the ACA. I am looking forward to seeing my friends and making new ones. Can’t wait to see you!
